The last data breach issues happened with Yahoo account happened on 14th Dec, 2016 where it had affected 1.5 billion Yahoo users. It was assumed that the company will boost it preventive measures and fill the security loopholes vulnerabilities but it seems that Yahoo have failed once again. Lately, a new breach has been identified and has once again questioned the security of the website and its services. The last incident of data breach has been probably overlooked by Yahoo. On 14th of Dec, 2016 when Yahoo official came up with the announcement that it happened in between 2015 and 2016. According to company’s security experts, the cyber-hacker used forged cookies for attacking user account. Reportedly, Verizon which had shown interest to buy Yahoo core Internet business now want a huge discount of about $250 to $350 million.
The company claimed to fix the security breach but there is always a doubt. If you receive a kind of email from Yahoo called “Important security information for Yahoo users” then you must take immediate action to protect your data. According to Yahoo, the hackers have accessed username, telephone number, birthdates, security questions and answer. Yahoo claims that the details about payment data and bank account information are safe as they were stored in different Systems. However, you should never trust such claims blindly and must take quick measures to secure your CC and bank account information at the quickest.
