If you use a Microsoft Account to log-in your PC then there is good news for you. Now, Microsoft has added a special feature on Windows 10 lockscreen for password recovery. Microsoft added this feature last week in “Windows 10-Insider Preview Build 16237”. It is supposed to available for all the users by October/November probably during the launch of “Windows 10 Fall Creators Update”.
In this password recovery feature, everything is very easy to use. In the new Option, you get “I forgot my password option” and then you can initialize the password recovery or reset option for Microsoft account.
For recovery of password, a verification code through SMS, phone call or via email. This code has to be entered in the lock screen during the password recovery process.
Microsoft is offering this new password recovery/reset option also to all those users who have activated Windows Hello authentication system, or whose accounts are secured through Pin code.
This is a big relief for all those users who forget password and locked out their PC. Remember that this Microsoft account login method is not applicable for local accounts and you must not get confused between them. Resetting password for local account is totally different and works on entirely different mechanism.
